I very much share your concerns Nicholas Barang. While I try to be optimistic, the truth is that I have no idea how humanity will adjust (if at all) to post-scarcity.
What I am certain about is that the transition period will be tumultuous.
My second conviction is that it’s impossible to forecast beyond 5–10 years, but it’s imperative that we play out scenarios, understand the tradeoffs (what are the sources of meaning-making in the post economic society?) and open up a dialogue on where we might be heading.
