I agree, the revenue models of the major social networks in existence today are linked to advertising. But, it looks like, we are moving towards yet more disruption, where the value of data de-couples from its potential to drive add traffic.
We’re entering uncharted territory, as far as I can tell, where the very fundamentals on which modern society, not just commerce, is built are in for a major shakeup.
